Are you a writer looking for inspiration? Or maybe you just enjoy television, movies, and books in general. Either way, this website is for you.

For a moment there, I became addicted to this site again...

For a moment there, I became addicted to this site again…

Anyway… not to be confused with a cliché, a trope is a common device a writer uses in their work to reflect life. Tropes are often explained by saying “you know, that thing where…”
Let’s say you’re watching a show, and all of a sudden, really weird stuff starts happening, like little people juggling while riding a tricycle around a bewildered protagonist. Then the protagonist realizes, just as you do, that this has all been a dream, a really bad hallucination, or some other escape from reality. If you know what I’m talking about, then congratulations! You know what a trope is. If not, don’t fret! Peruse the site yourself, and you’ll understand soon enough.

Hey, you know that button above the backspace key? Yes? No?

Yeah, that one.

Your answer may depend on how often you look at your keyboard.

Anyway, I’m not going to teach you how to use that button. Why? Because this website is for fun, and tutorials aren’t fun. Instead, I’m going to show you some fun and easy ways to share pictures with your friends using one of 2 very small programs called Gyazo and LightShot.
Now, for those of you that are simple, impatient, or in a hurry, Gyazo is a fairly quick program to use. As shown on the website, you just use your mouse to trace a box around whatever you’d like to show that friend of yours, then — BAM. An image is created, and a link to it is automatically copied to your clipboard. I’d suggest pinning it to your taskbar for easy access.
Second on the list is LightShot, which is pretty similar to Gyazo, but with the option to upload, edit, and search for similar images. Either way, the choice is yours.

Akinator The Web Genius

Have you ever been playing a game of 20 Questions and it just didn’t work out? For example…

Player 1:
“The answer is ____.” Player 2: “But I already guessed ____!” Player 1: “Oops. Didn’t hear you.”
or even…
Player 1:
“The answer is ____.” Player 2: “But you said he doesn’t have brown hair!” Player 1: “Whoops. I meant black hair.”

Either way, it can be pretty frustrating.

To fix this problem, along with your boredom, I’d like to introduce you to Akinator.

The Web Genie

If you’re not familiar with 20 Questions (which Akinator is based off of), you need to get out more. the goal of the game is to keep asking yes or no questions until you’re able to correctly guess what’s on the other player’s mind. It’s usually played by thinking about a well-known person or fictional character. Now, Akinator isn’t just good. He’s crazy good. You could say he’s even… unstumpable. You’ll be surprised at how much he can guess.

Exhibit A

If you’re looking for something to take up a few hours of your time or even an interesting topic to talk about with your friends, try Akinator.

Cracked, TodayIFoundOut, DidYouKnow

This week, I’ve decided to suggest my three favorite websites for information. The first two of these little gems are filled to the brim with amusing articles, and the other with quirky little factoids. If you like that kind of stuff, then you’ll most definitely enjoy these websites:

1. Cracked

If you can’t tell, my blog is somewhat inspired by Cracked. Cracked is by far the most entertaining place you could go to for informative videos and interesting articles. And when I say interesting, I mean interesting. A couple of examples would be “7 Things ‘Good Parents’ Do (That Screw Up Kids For Life)”, “The 10 Coolest Foreign Words The English Language Needs”, “15 Unexpected Origins of Famous Ideas”, and “The 5 Most Ridiculous Lies You Were Taught In History Class”. If those don’t seem interesting enough, go ahead and peruse the site yourself. You’ll be glad you did.

2. TodayIFoundOut

TodayIFoundOut is a website similar to Cracked in the sense that they both have a wide variety of interesting articles. However, the structure of the website is far different. The articles of Cracked are strictly based on lists. TodayIFoundOut focuses more on quick facts, helpful tips, the truth about common myths and misconceptions, and the answers to common questions. Both are excellent sources of information.

3. DidYouKnow? Or DidYouKnowArchive

I’m going to end this post with my most simple recommended source for fun information. DidYouKnow is an official Tumblr page based on its predecessor DidYouKnowArchive, dedicated to providing you with odd, humorous, or just plain interesting little factoids. And yes, I said factoids, not facts. The website is updated numerous times a day, just in case you’re the type of person that will X out a webpage before getting bored and bringing it right back up again. In fact, the page has been gaining so much fame that it’s even got its own mobile app.
